ッ / ティ・ファ・ウィ・ヴ
Chữ nhỏ ッ trong katakana hoạt động giống っ trong hiragana: nó tạo một nhịp ngắt ngắn trước phụ âm tiếp theo. Ví dụ ベッド và チケット có phụ âm đôi rõ ràng.
Small ッ in katakana works like っ in hiragana: it creates a short pause before the next consonant. Words like ベッド and チケット clearly contain doubled consonants.
Katakana còn tạo thêm nhiều âm để gần với cách phát âm quốc tế hơn, ví dụ ティ, ファ, フィ, ウィ, ヴァ. Đây là những âm không nằm nguyên vẹn trong bảng 50 âm truyền thống.
Katakana also creates many extra combinations to approximate international pronunciation, for example ティ, ファ, フィ, ウィ, ヴァ. These are not full traditional 50-sound-row items on their own.
Với người Việt, khó khăn lớn nhất là thêm nguyên âm không cần thiết. Ví dụ ティ không phải tii tách hai nhịp, còn ファ không phải hua.
For Vietnamese learners, the biggest issue is adding an unnecessary vowel. For example, ティ should not be split into two beats like ti-i, and ファ should not be read like hua.
Ví dụ / Examples

ベッド contains small ッ.
チケット cũng có nhịp ngắt bằng ッ.

Âm ティ thường dùng trong từ mượn mới.
The sound ティ is common in newer loanwords.

Trong đời sống, nhiều từ mượn vẫn được viết theo cách quen thuộc hơn là hoàn toàn “quốc tế”. Ví dụ một số từ vẫn dùng ベ thay vì ヴェ. In real usage, many loanwords are still written in familiar Japanese ways rather than in the most “international” spelling. For example, some words use ベ instead of ヴェ.
